Can anyone document the use of the name "Naina" as an alternate to the proper name "Nain"? I have never heard of this but did not edit the article pending any confirmation. "Nain" is certainly the predominantly used English name and corresponds to maps of the area. Crubins (talk) 18:01, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation needed

[edit]

How is Nain pronounced? I can think of three possible pronunciations, all equally likely. David Spector (talk) 00:28, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one seems to know, I will assume it is a homophone of "nine" in English. David Spector (talk) 11:47, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Late reply, but it rhymes with main, Spain, etc. I am from Labrador. Kotjze (talk) 21:00, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How and why was the name changed?

[edit]

The article states that the local name of the town is Nunajnguk. How and why was the name changed to Nain? David Spector (talk) 00:31, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This article has specific needs

[edit]

This article needs work by someone familiar with the town. How many streets are there? Can we add a map of the town? Can we add a description of the museum? How does it compare to the two museums in Bar Harbor, Maine? Are there any local activities, festivals, entertainment, arts, gymnastics? What businesses and educational institutions are here? What languages are spoken? David Spector (talk) 11:51, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Nain, Newfoundland and Labrador

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Nain, Newfoundland and Labrador's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "census2016":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 02:13, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
