Will start tomorrow. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 14:08, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lead
  • If we notice the lead's plot summary, there are no names mentioned. That is fine but why not use the English equivalent of Rajguru instead of Rajguru?
  • Anaga Anaga oka Raju? Agreed you don't know Telugu. But breaking Anaganaga into Anaga Anaga is a shabdha dosham. Please correct it.
Plot
  • "However, the kingdom's Rajaguru (high priest) Vijayavarman, plans to kill Marthandan and make Pingalan king." -- Who is Pingalan? How is he related to Marthandan?
  • "On entering a pub in Ratnapuri, Veerangan and Sagayam beat up a gang of rowdies": Pub? Really? I never knew that Tamil films were this advanced. Talk about progressiveness. ;-) BTW, is rowdies the right word?
@Pavanjandhyala: Yes. It is a hotel actually, changed now. Rowdies is the right word as the word Goons are not much known to readers who aren't subcontinental.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:47, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Veerangan tells him of the pathetic state the people of Rantapuri, and Marthandan agrees to set everything right as soon as he takes charge." -- It is Ratnapuri.
  • Who saved Marthandan from dying?
  • "The duo then free Marthandan and Karmegam, who had been captured by Vijayavarman, who is now reformed." -- Avoid the repetition of "who".
  • "Veerangan marries Ratna, and Marthandan issues a proclamation stating Ratnapuri is a democracy." -- "...stating that Ratnapuri..."
Cast
  • Is it necessary to capitalise K in King of Kanni Theevu?
  • Why Queen Manohari? Marthandan was referred to as Marthandan only, right?
Production
  • "Ramachandran accepted that at the time they were both confused over what to do next." -- do you mean "at that time"?
  • "As director, Ramachandran was keen to obtain the results he wanted and repeatedly shot retakes of the same scene until he felt it was perfect." -- Can't this be made simple. Like say "Ramachandran wanted the end result to be perfect and shot multiple retakes for the same scene."
  • The rest of this section is fine.
Music
  • "The song "Varunga Varunga Vendhe" was composed in Kannada with lyrics by Vijaya Narasimha, in Malayalam with lyrics by P. Bhaskaran, and in Telugu with lyrics by Narayanababuas, well as in Tamil." -- The latter half of the sentence needs better phrasing.
Box office
  • Again Anaga Anaga Oka Raju...
  • Why is Madurai not linked?

Rest is fine. Nothing much to complain.

Conclusion: I find this one of Ramachandran's most politically aware films till date. Good work on the article, mostly inspiring at parts. Let me know once the concerns are met. Regards, Pavanjandhyala (talk) 07:42, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Pavanjandhyala: The rest of your comments have been resolved.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:47, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ssven2, I put a hidden note in the "casting" section, containing a ref you could use. Pavan, once he adds it, can you please review it? Kailash29792 (talk) 09:13, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792 and Ssven2: Okay. Let me know when it is added. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 10:48, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792 and Pavanjandhyala: Added as a footnote.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 12:04, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
