Unclear Sentence

[edit]

I would correct this sentence myself, but I don't understand how it's supposed to read:

'Nadītu were mainly particular women not living in the, in Babylonian society regarded as normal,

Can someone correct this, please?

Sincerely,

I cannot. I don't understand what it means, but one "most parsimonous" interpretation might be that Nadītu were women living outside "normal" Babylonian society. However, that's unsourced, and its almost impossible to know what folks from 3000 years ago thought "normal", if they had such a concept. Rursus dixit. (mbork3!) 06:22, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

[edit]

I would suggest the pronunciation to be: /nədiːtu/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lonelytj (talkcontribs) 08:19, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure the "add pronunciation" template serves a real function, since we don't know the fine details of ancient pronunciation, and there may not even be a conventional modern English adapted pronunciation... AnonMoos (talk) 16:32, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cuneiform

[edit]

Might be nice to have the cuneiform spelling of the word. AnonMoos (talk) 18:16, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
