Pre-FLC review
[edit]Truco asked me to take a look before the FLC. Not looking at sources, only prose and other things.
- "National Wrestling Alliance (NWA)" You already defined the abbreviation in the bolded phrase.
- "The Class of 2005, the inaugural inductees into the Hall of Fame did not have a formal induction ceremony," Comma at the end of this phrase should be a semicolon.
- "There were no inductees in 2007 due to the NWA planning an international expansion to the promotion." The noun + -ing structure ("NWA planning") is ungrammatical. Reword.
- "which
alsoincluded" - "Kai is the only woman to be inducted into the Hall of Fame."-->Kai is the only woman to have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
- "Overall, there were 21 inductees; two managers, commentators, and promoters, and fifteen wrestlers." "21"-->twenty-one.
- "The NWA Hall of Fame logo (2008-)" Hyphen should be an en dash.
- Fix the dab. Dabomb87 (talk) 21:09, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
- Done all.--TRUCO 22:07, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
I have put protection on this article to prevent edit warring
[edit]User:Ericsax, you seem to be under the mistaken apprehension that the NWA has some kind of say-so about how this article is structured. On the contrary, they have a massive conflict of interest in this matter. Instead, other editors have attempted to make clear to you that the article should be structured in a manner similar to that for similar subjects such as the WWE Hall of Fame. Nobody "owns" this article, least of all the NWA. If anybody wants to improve this article, for the time being, they should post their suggestions for improvement here on the article talk page, and other editors will examine whether the suggestions will improve the article. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:35, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hi. Sorry if I started a war edition. User Eicsax answer me, but I prefer to discuss here. This is Wikipedia, no NWA. First, we don't need to have his permission to put the championship. Also, we haven't to put the championships if NWA wants. He said to me that "all the (small) championships deserve to be represented." No, if the championship isn't notable (like the minesota version of a minor championship) we can't put it. I usually por the JCP titles because it was one of the most famous championships. I use the same style than the WWE Hall of Fame, it means, the most important championships of the promotion.I think that put a wrestler and near 100 championship is usless, the Hall of Fame shows a brief part of his championships, no ALL the titles (you can see the championships in the article about the wrestler). Also, NWA is a huge company, a lot of wrestlers won near 50 championships. All the Wrestling hall of fame should have the same criteria, only the most important or notable championships in the wrestlers carrer. For example, Koko B. Ware, his descrption:"Held several NWA regional championships". Other, Ric flair won between WCW and WWE the WWE Championship, WCW World Heavyweight championship, World Tag Team, wcw World Tag team, Intercontinental, Royal Rumble, WCW United States, WCW Television, and Intercontinental World Heavyweight Titles. His description only shows WWE Championship, WCW Championship and NWA Championship, no more, only the most notable. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 15:39, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
FYI to editors... please see this discussion on Orange Mike's talk page or, if it's moved, this archive of it. 76.189.111.2 (talk) 16:55, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
Tag Teams
[edit]If you are going to have a section with the Tag Teams that been inducted, then the Corsicas must be moved as well as Ole & Gene Anderson. You could also put Dory Jr & Terry Funk as a tag team in there. Also Bobby Eaton & Dennis Condrey need to be moved as the Midnight Express, even though Condrey won more titles outside of the Midnight Express than Eaton. Eaton won other titles in the Mid-southern region before tagging with Condrey. Condrey was already a part of the Midnight Express with Randy Rose as his partner.
It is also interesting that the AWA World Tag Team titles of Ray "The Crippler" Stevens was mentioned.
I would prefer that each wrestler has its own listing. Ericsax (talk) 14:23, 1 January 2014 (UTC)ericsax
- It depends if the wrestlers were inducted as singles wrestlers or tag team. For example, NWA inducted The Kangaroos and The Road Warrior as Tag Team, as you can see. About the others... looks like Corsicas and Midnight Express were inducted as tag team. The Funks weren't, because they were inducted different years. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 15:30, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
The Corsicas were inducted as a tag team as well as the Midnight Express version of Eaton and Condrey. Eaton and Condrey only won 6 titles together in the NWA. The NWA World Tag (Mid-Atlantic Version), NWA American Tag in World Class, NWA Bluegrass and NWA Rocky Top tag titles. Eaton has 30 more separate title reigns in the NWA, mostly from the Mid-Southern area. Condrey has over 40 more title NWA reigns besides he titles with Eaton, mostly in the Mid-Southern and Southeast areas.
The Andersons (Ole, Gene and Lars) were also inducted together. If these were listed under the tag team section, it should only be Gene and Ole.
Ole and Gene were 8x NWA World Tag Team Champs (Mid-Atlantic Version), 1x NWA Southern Tag Team Champs (Carolinas Version), 4x NWA Atlantic Coast Tag Team Champs, 1x NWA Southeast Tag Champs in Georgia, 3x NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Champs, 7x NWA Georgia Tag Champs and NWA Macon Tag Champs together.
Ole and Lars were 3x NWA Georgia Tag Champs together. Gene and Lars were 2x NWA Georgia Tag Champs and 1x NWA World Tag Champs in Georgia together. Ole won titles with other partners as well as a single, Gene did not, Lars did but either in Florida or SF, or HawaiiEricsax (talk) 22:09, 2 January 2014 (UTC)ericsax
