'NOAAS Okeanos Explorer' or 'NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer'?
[edit]I've been searching for what the 'S' in 'NOAAS' in 'NOAAS Okeanos Explorer' stands for. 'NOAA's Okeanos Explorer'? Following some naval writing convention? 'Ship'? Probably a good guess. Coudn't find anything within the article to clarify the matter. Except when I followed the link to the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer homepage. There I was confronted with the fact that NOAA themselves never say 'NOAAS Okeanos Explorer'. It's always 'NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer'. Naming the article thus, in my view, would make a lot more sense. I 've never changed an articles title in Wikipedia, before, but I can clearly see that there's a wide range of consequences to be considered. Please help! Korinthus (talk) 18:57, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
