Is a single protein really "notable"?
[edit]This article reads much more like an entry in a medical dictionary than an encyclopedia article. I see that there are many articles in the category, but I question how many of these are truly notable enough to get their own articles. If a given protein isn't related to a specific notable disease or genetic disorder, doesn't have a "weird" name which needs explanation or background (e.g. Mothers against decapentaplegic, Sonic hedgehog), and isn't otherwise notable (first discovered in its pathway, discovered by a famous scientist, etc.), I don't think it merits a full article of its own, but rather an entry in Wiktionary:WikiProject Medicine — QuintessentialAnomaly [talk] 21:27, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
