Torture on a regular basis

Hi Josh Gorand, just to address a major factual problem in the initial page: You probably didn't find the correct interpretation when translating the German wikipedia site on the topic (credits?). The prisoners were only interrogated during the first days (or weeks) after their detention. During this interrogations, they were in many cases tortured (e.g. heavily beaten up loosing teeth). Then they had to sign a protocol in Russian language containing all kind of weird testimonies obtained in this way. Then, they came to an NKVD special camp, without any further trial. In other cases, they were in fact tried by an SMT (Soviet court-martial). In this case, they were never brought to camp Mühlberg. Tried prisoners have been brought to other NKVD camps like Sachsenhausen, but there they have been in a completely isolated section of the camp. A regular torture is not reported from camp Mühlberg or other NKVD special camps. In fact, the internal management of the camp was performed by a German self-administration of the prisoners. The camp commander of special camp No. 1, Walter Haller, is remembered by most of the former prisoners as being a real criminal. --Usteinhoff (talk) 22:49, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

Citations?

Why are there so many specific figures and bits of information without a single citation? If it's in the literature, why is it in a vague list just titled "Literature" instead of being properly linked? If you're going to make claims like "youth wrongly accused" it would be helpful to have a link to the source that shows this rather than force the reader to dive through a library of books just to find the specific source that says this. 5.151.28.129 (talk) 21:01, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
