merged with Net and .net (disambiguation)"
At 22:43, 24 March 2007 User:Mafmafmaf added two hdgs, tagged the new section "Explanation" to be split off to a new page, & tagged the pg for Dab-Cleanup and summarized the edit with
Text on net section needs to be spinned-off to its own article, for this to remain a pure DAB.

If you are talking to me, you are not addressing my concern and my request. My concern is that this is an adulterated DAB page; my request is that the content be taken out so that this becomes an unadulterated DAB page. So, nothing to do with the merging of the articles net, .net and NET, which was absolutely correct and which I totally condone.

Ah ok! Indeed, I didn't understand it, so ok that's great. :)

splitted from net#explanation
At 19:47, 4 April 2007 User:16@r removed most of the "Explanation" section and summarized the edit with
splitting performed
I fully agree. Split Net (word) from NET (disambiguation).

I'm not sure where this conversatin started, but this page should be renamed Net (disambiguation)

  1. I don't think there is a stated preferences for the mixed-case title rather than the all-caps one, but i think our practice is clearly to limit all-caps Dab titles to abbreviations that are not words.
  2. As to the "bare name" vs. sfx'g with " (disambiguation)", the bare name is preferred for the Dab, if there is no topic "pre-eminently deserving" of having it as its article title.
  3. I may be overly meticulous about the following: (IMO maintaining the combination of the page histories as the page history of the merged, for GFDL compliance, is IMO much more important in the case of prose than of lists and Dab compilations. But the merge that was done was a cut-and-paste one, leaving the history of one of the pages hidden under a Rdr. My intention is to record the separate histories on this talk page, and merge the histories, before moving the accompanying Dab page to either Net or Net (disambiguation).
