Article move

[edit]

Moved article from Germaphobia to mysophobia and added re-direct to here. Left the sources tag since it still needs some. -Thebdj 05:19, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm... I think it is established enough that we don't have to source the condition, but right now the whole article reads just like a definition, not an encyclopedia entry. I'm a psych major, I'll try to find some sources and expand. 152.133.6.197 11:21, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In fiction section

[edit]

I am uncertain whether the In Fiction section is helpful or misleading. Do mysophobes really act like Monk? The existing list should be rearranged into a paragraph if the information belongs in the article. At the moment, this is the largest section in the article. Ronstew (talk) 18:57, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New: At the moment, there are six examples from fiction. I am going to delete any further uncited examples. If new, cited examples are added, I will delete older, uncited ones. Six examples is already too many. Ronstew (talk) 18:41, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notable mysophobes?

[edit]

There are examples of them in fiction why not have examples of real life mysophobias like Howie Mandel? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.111.197.98 (talk) 15:02, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fine. But for real people, the citations have to be solid. Ronstew (talk) 03:32, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And I just removed a (non-notable) un-cited RL example. Rich Farmbrough, 00:54, 7 February 2011 (UTC).[reply]

CopyVio

[edit]

Allo,
So, the lion's share of the article was a copyvio of CTRN.
Yes, I realize that a link to the site was included at the very end of the article (still is, at the moment), but that doesn't negate the copyright violation. You can't simply copy&paste someone else's work, and then advise people to go check out the original material if they happen to read down that far.
If the material is restored, it needs to be done in a legal fashion. It needs to be entirely rewritten, and properly sourced. Source individual statements; don't just include a link at the end. And if anything's taken word-for-word, it needs to be as a quote (and, again, sourced directly). That said, though the information was essentially true, I'm not sure that the link used technically qualifies as a "reliable source" anyway. 72.88.75.4 (talk) 18:03, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Saddam Hussein?

[edit]

I noticed Saddam Hussein was listed among notable mysophobes. Any sources? 2601:CF:4500:E250:DA68:C3FF:FE41:526F (talk) 04:48, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Issue with the "society" section.

[edit]

There has been a serious mistake with this section regarding citations. 2601:CF:4500:E250:93B:F7:7DB4:18CD (talk) 22:23, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
