Merger proposal
[edit]- This page should be combined with Myogenic contraction. 204.133.176.94
- These two look like duplicates. Tilifa Ocaufa (talk) 22:30, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- Merge: these do seem to be identical in common use. While it is true that there are mechanism generated by the muscle that are not the Bayliss effect, this seems to be the commonest intended meaning in the field of physiology. As for the direction of the merge, I suggest merging to the slightly more general myogenic mechanism. Klbrain (talk) 23:17, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- Merge all articles myogenic mechanism, myogenic contraction, and Bayliss effect to a more comprehensive usage myogenic response (which is now a redirect). Chhandama (talk) 03:31, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
- Merging all three to the one location, headed with 'response', sounds like a good idea, because the nature of the response and its mechanism can then be discussed in one good article, rather than 3 incomplete articles. I'll propose a page move from Myogenic contraction (the oldest of the 3 articles) to Myogenic response, which should given the best preservation of the history for the final article. Klbrain (talk) 15:46, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
- Merge completed, but still awaiting move discussion, which seems to have moved from technical and opened up for discussion. Klbrain (talk) 13:26, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
- To editor Klbrain: I've closed the RM linked to below, so that debate no longer stands in the way of this page merge. Happy New Year! Paine Ellsworth put'r there 16:15, 31 December 2017 (UTC)
