User:Cs32en commented on another thread how this strike wasn't an airstrike, so we should get that fixed. But I haven't actually found any sources about the kind of missile used. Anyone could find some info? Thanks AdrianHObradors (talk) 23:42, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My main point in that other thread was that this is not classified as an explosion, being an attack from the air. I think it's verifiable that this is a missile attack, but it is probably not certain whether the missile was launched from air or from sea. I'm also not perfectly sure about the definition of "airstrike". Certainly, attacks by airplanes, meaning airplanes flying over or close to the target, would qualify as airstrikes. But missile attacks with missiles that just happened to be launched from air? Cs32enTalk to me00:25, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Airstrikes are attacks carried out by aircraft. If a missile is launched from the ground, it isn't an airstrike. If a missile is launched from air is an airstrike of course. AdrianHObradors (talk) 08:44, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This article quotes Oleksiy Honcharenko saying that it was a "Kalibr" missile. Here an OSINT researcher confirms it. Though it has an exotic 3M-14AE air-to-land launcher, it is mostly launched from the ships (especially when we talk about seaside targets like Mykolaiv), so I think that it should not be called an airstrike. Rather it should be called a missile attack or a missile strike. --Cannibal Rat (talk) 14:41, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, I'd like to ask for the renaming of this article. It was not an airstrike. Most sources do not specify it calling it just a strike or an attack, but thesetwo sources call it a missile strike, so I suggest renaming it.--Cannibal Rat (talk) 13:37, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose I think that a strike on a government building headquarters resulting in a high casualty count (37 dead, 34 injured) is notable enough for its own page. Gödel2200 (talk) 14:40, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
