Proposed deletion
[edit]I am contesting the proposed deletion of this article. WP:N notes: "Sources do not have to be available online or written in English." MHRJ is largely a Burmese-language journal that has largely been printed offline, meaning the majority of scholars rely on physical prints of this journal or on library holdings, not Google. This is why multiple bookshops sell these journals.
Per WP:NJOURNALS 2b: "The only reasonably accurate way of finding citations to journals are via bibliographic databases and citation indices, such as general services like Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar..."
- A quick Google Scholar search yields multiple English language articles from the journal that have been cited by other sources (source), including other academic journals and published books, including those by Michael Aung-Thwin and Jacques Leider. Most Burmese language scholarship remains unindexed online, so this represents just a faction of the overall scholarly output.
Per WP:NJOURNALS 2c: "For journals in humanities, the existing citation indices and Google Scholar often provide inadequate and incomplete information. In these cases, one can also look at how frequently the journal is held in various academic libraries when evaluating whether C2 is satisfied. This information is often available in Worldcat..."
- According to WorldCat, copies of this journal are held in 23 libraries (source) for Burmese academic scholars to use. My initial draft noted key Southeast Asian studies libraries that hold copies of this journal, but that was subsequently removed without explanation: [1].
@Hybernator @Ninjastrikers @Htanaungg @Taung Tan if you have access to any sources to corroborate this, please feel free to help expand the article. Thank you. --Hintha 💬 18:59, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
