Absolute nonsense

[edit]

McAvoy wasn't given a script or the plot? That's so made up. How on earth could he make up the details of his dialogue to fit in with the rest of the casts scripts. Actually think about it for one minute. This is why Wikipedia is so wrong, it thinks that just because something is mentioned on the internet then it is true. If someone at the BBC wrote an article saying that Elvis Presley is the current Queen of Argentina then morons on here would say it's true. Sirhissofloxley (talk) 12:23, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well, congratulations to Elvis. https://www.google.com/search?q=james+mcavoy+my+son+improvisedHattrem (talk) 08:58, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Via IMDBCite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).: As with Guillaume Canet in the original film, My Son (2017), James McAvoy was not given a script and had to improvise all of his dialogue. All other actors knew the script and story, and McAvoy's reaction to the other actor's revelations were genuine. This was done to capture the authentic shock and surprise a parent would experience when dealing with a traumatic event. Ken Loach's films are improvised. Actors may know what they need to achieve in a scene, but they don't have to have a script. The film Coherence had no scripted dialogue. Each actor was given 5 pieces of information at the start of each day of filming. Sometimes, morons who write supercilious comments just embarrass themselves by thinking they're clever, when they truly aren't.Gothvixen (talk) 00:20, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

James spoke about this on BBC Graeme Norton

[edit]

This was discussed on Graham Norton show and James did confirm this happened. He gave some details about how this worked and that the rest of the cast did have a script but James didn’t. 95.147.66.57 (talk) 20:34, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
