Importance
[edit]This is a legit article, the singer is featured on this week's "All Songs Considered" by NPR (I went to this site to get some background once I saw it). It just needs to be expanded. I removed the reference and changed it to a stub.--Fresh 21:07, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Merger with Shara Worden
[edit]As an example, "Zach Cordon" redirects to "Beirut_(band)" which is practically a biography page Zach Cordon including his early life etc.76.118.183.136 (talk) 00:05, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- I second this suggestion, although I would recommend merging My Brightest Diamond into the Shara Worden article rather than the other way around. AwRy was a solo project (she toured as AwRy without a backing band), so it would not fit into the My Brightest Diamond article. Christopher Harwood - 72.33.101.218 (talk) 05:52, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- Looking at articles on Samuel Beam (under Iron & Wine) and Zachary Francis Condon (under Beirut, where his side projects Realpeople and 1971 are also mentioned), Bat for lashes and a couple of other random selections from this list of one person bands, I think the wikipedia standard has evolved to the use of the most famous band article as "the umbrella".
- Oppose - Shara Worden has notability outside of the band "My Brightest Diamond," having performed with other bands, most notably as one of the lead singers on The Decemberists album The Hazards of Love, which is all a separate topic from My Brightest Diamond. --Oakshade (talk) 05:09, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- I feel that the biographical information about Shara Worden should be removed from the "My Brightest Diamond" page and placed on the "Shara Worden" page. Shara Worden has a long history of producing music with a number of different groups of musicians, and has a long, on-going ledger of collaborations that have nothing at all to do with My Brightest Diamond. She was involved in many published music projects for nearly a decade prior to the beginning of My Brightest Diamond. That information does not belong under the "My Brightest Diamond" page and needs to be part of the separate "Shara Worden" page. In fact, much of the biographical information presented on the "My Brightest Diamond" page describes events that took place long before "My Brightest Diamond" was started, and has nothing to do with "My Brightest Diamond" as a stand-alone entity. -- K7k (talk) 16:44, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
