Martha Reeves as a Soloist.
[edit]What is never discussed is there was never a group, officiated contractually by Motown, as Martha and The Vandellas. Martha Reeves was contracted as a soloist and it was she who would hired the various Vandellas and who paid their salaries out of what she made recording. Hence, the various Vandellas, replaced, were fired by Reeves, not Motown. Thus, Reeves got rid of whomever Vandella she either did not get along with or was no longer useful. Many of The Vandellas' recordings were either without the Vandellas (My Baby Loves Me) or augmented by The Andantes such as (Bless You) 1971. Reeves did what Ross did without all of the fanfare espoused by Wilson's book, "Dreamgirls". Spenser - The Unknown (talk) 19:47, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
