Statistics
[edit]I am fairly sure this is the most played song by rock/blues cover bands. But I have no statistics to prove this. I have never understood the ubiquitous nature of this song. Surely there are more interesting songs for rock/blues bar bands to play. It wouldl be interesting to discuss its popularity in the article if some concrete reasons for it could be provided. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.58.32.162 (talk) 12:00, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Stairway to Heaven was massively overplayed by radio stations during the 70's and 80's, but I don't think that rock bands attempted to play it with such frequency, partly because there are many rock standards that are a lot easier to learn and play. Mustang Sally is pretty simple and fun to play, hence part of the reason for its popularity with r&b bands. 173.70.141.227 (talk) 14:26, 22 November 2008 (UTC)kolef88
"Mustang Sally's hedonistic approach to gasoline consumption and pollution"
[edit]I would have thought the lyrics were just a euphemism ("Ride, Sally, ride"; "Guess you better slow that Mustang down") for sex, hardly a reason for it to be banned from radio stations in this time of global warming ;) Rogerthat Talk 03:19, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
"Noodler?"
[edit]Noodler is not in my dictionary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kermit2 (talk • contribs) 18:31, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Well if Mustang Sally is about sex rather than cars and gasoline consumption why didn't he just say it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.132.186.179 (talk) 23:09, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
links to all the sources
[edit]I made a short list of the most famous performers of this song. I know I need to provide links to all the sources. I have all these songs, all of them can be found on the Internet — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seregadushka (talk • contribs) 00:30, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
The Coasters
[edit]Not sure why the Coasters discography is listed at the bottom of the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ndelsangro (talk • contribs) 17:15, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
