triangle inequality
[edit]"Since the triangle inequality holds for [...] the variant of the Earth Mover's Distance used by Musipedia..." Is this really correct? As far as I know, the Earth Mover's Distance obeys the triangle equality only for equally heavy point sets, which is not the case when matching polyphonic to monophonic objects. http://igitur-archive.library.uu.nl/dissertations/2007-0219-200118/full.pdf page 26 ff. --kaphi
this entry on a website is an advert! would like to see more critical analysis as well as comparisons to other sites and size of database.... unable to edit :S (china user issue?) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.232.118.198 (talk) 14:58, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
- Should be a bit better now. See the library ref for a list of other sources. Data on size of db seems hard to come by; and this is the only one I know that explicitly describes its matching algorithm. – SJ + 20:48, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
