"The mistake in Kerry's gender was just one of a series of screwups in handling this case. Websites that stated the girls' went missing after their bodies had been found kept them from being considered by online searchers. The bogus idea they were from the Midwest contaminated the case. And on and on." - Burblestein on Websleuths. PAustin4thApril1980 (talk) 10:29, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Easy to look at the case with skepticism when given the benefit of retrospect. The major blunder was the misidentification of Graham's gender (although see note #4 on the article). Should have at least left open the possibility of the remains being female though.--Kieronoldham (talk) 21:44, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Kieronoldham:, I'm a bit uncomfortable with this article giving legitimacy to the idea that some well-known "celebrity" serial killer(s) killed Kerry and Francine. Wouldn't you say that it's just as likely to be an anonymous nobody who was preying on young women? PAustin4thApril1980 (talk) 06:39, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, PAustin4thApril1980. Nice to hear from you. Hope all's well. In my opinion, the article does not give legitimacy to this theory. The section in question clearly opens with a sentence including the words "no definite suspects have ever been named in the murders" and ends by again clearly stating as such. Everything is referenced. The pattern of behavior and victim profile of the Gallegos suggests a possibility to me, maybe not Acala. How do you suggest we address your concerns?--Kieronoldham (talk) 01:34, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
