Edits of edits of edits of edits....
Hi TomCat4680. Just a friendly suggestion, but have you considered using the "Show preview" function on the Edit page? Blurryman (talk) 14:05, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, I do it all the time, just want to make this article better since nobody is helping me expand it (hint, hint). TomCat4680 (talk) 14:26, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
- Your work is appreciated, but instead of making 12 edits and 12 saves within 22 minutes today, 12 edits and 1 save would make life easier for people reviewing your edits. Just a thought. Blurryman (talk) 11:57, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tip. I'll save less and preview more from now on. TomCat4680 (talk) 17:22, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
- I've been trying to remember to add summaries to my edits too. TomCat4680 (talk) 07:55, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

New sections?
Hi Tomcat4680. First, thank you for creating this article. What do you think about creating a section title ==Disappearance==. We could move some fo the details from the lead section to this new section. Making this section could lead to the creation of a ==Search== section, your thoughts/guidance? Vwanweb (talk) 19:48, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
- Sounds like a good idea to me. The Charley Project website in the external links section on the article is probably the best source to use for the disappearance section. For the search section, the WOOD-TV archive of their coverage, also in the external links section, is best for that. TomCat4680 (talk) 19:54, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Inmate Detail website, thoughts on how to work this into main article
Found an inmate resource, a cool thing on Bluhm's inmate status is that is shows his next court date. Your thoughts on how to get this info into the article?
Muskegon County, MI Inmate Detail https://mcd911.net/p2c/jailinmates.aspx
Inmate Detail: Willis, Jeffrey https://mcd911.net/p2c/InmateDetail.aspx?navid=636211650842599822
Inmate Detail: Bluhm, Kevin https://mcd911.net/p2c/InmateDetail.aspx?navid=636211661490475533
Vwanweb (talk) 07:18, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
- Those links are blank when I click them. It'd be better to have a news report for Bluhm's next court date. There's nothing new for Willis. TomCat4680 (talk) 01:35, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
Timeline of disappearance?
Hey Vwanweb, (and anyone else watching this article) what do you think about combing through the sources and adding a "Timeline of disappearance" section? The one in Disappearance_of_Jennifer_Kesse#Timeline is a good example. TomCat4680 (talk) 03:39, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- A timeline section would be great, it's real cool that you pointed us to a reference to work from too. Vwanweb (talk) 03:57, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- I've just started one. Feel free to add to it. TomCat4680 (talk) 04:28, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- Timeline section is awesome, great addition. Vwanweb (talk) 09:30, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks. TomCat4680 (talk) 09:39, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Lead Section edit to three paragraphs
Hi TomCat4680,
Your thoughts on editing the lead section from two to three paragraphs?
On April 26, 2013, Jessica Lynn Heeringa, a 25-year-old, engaged mother of a young son, disappeared from her job at an ExxonMobil station in Norton Shores, Michigan and has not been seen since. She left behind her purse, jacket, cigarettes, money and car.
Investigators later found a few drops of blood outside the gas station.[1][2][3] Through a DNA analysis the blood was matched to Heeringa.[4] For the next three and a half years, a 75 member task force of 14 specialized divisions from 15 law enforcement agencies spent 12,000 man hours and conducted a massive investigation that included around 1,400 tips, 33 executed search warrants, 20 consensual residential searches, 12 ground searches, and two underwater searches.[5]
Although Heeringa's remains have not been found, in September of 2016 a 46-year-old Muskegon Township resident named Jeffrey Willis was charged with her kidnapping and murder, due to forensic evidence and eyewitness statements implicating him in her disappearance.[6] He is also charged with the murder of a 36-year-old woman that occurred in 2014, an attempted kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl in 2016, and child pornography crimes involving his unsuspecting female next door neighbors dating back to 2011, who were 14 at the time.[3] As of December 27, 2016, his trial for Heeringa's murder and the other charges has yet to begin.[7] He is also a suspect in the unsolved murder of a 15-year-old girl that occurred in 1996.[8] Willis' cousin Kevin Bluhm pleaded guilty to lying to police during the Heeringa investigation and during the 2014 murder investigation.[9] Bluhm is awaiting trial for a charge of accessory after the fact for helping Willis dispose of Heeringa's body.[10][11] Vwanweb (talk) 03:52, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
- That's fine with me.TomCat4680 (talk) 07:19, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks TomCat4680 I appreciate all your guidance and friendly ways!!! Vwanweb (talk) 19:07, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
List of people who disappeared mysteriously?
Hi, Should we create a posting for this wikipedia list? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_who_disappeared_mysteriously Vwanweb (talk) 11:18, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
- I suppose, but the mystery has been solved it seems. TomCat4680 (talk) 11:20, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
- OK TomCat4680 sounds good to me Vwanweb (talk) 03:51, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
- I added it since she's technically still missing. TomCat4680 (talk) 03:27, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
- If someone has been charged with the murder of a person whose body is still missing, it is no longer a missing-person case but a murder case; I will be renaming the article appropriately (Should the case not result in a conviction, we can restore this title, as legally she will not be presumed to have died). Daniel Case (talk) 03:53, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
- Surely it is premature to change this title to a "murder case"? Since no body has yet been found, a cause of death has not been established, and the laying of criminal charges does not change the nature of this event as a 'fact' until a verdict is delivered. And what about the principle of 'innocent until proven guilty'? So the 'disappearance' would only become a 'murder' if that were to be the verdict of the court, and that would be the time to change the title of the article. Your mention of the possibility of later having to change the title back surely demonstrates that the change is not appropriate at this time. Blurryman (talk) 00:27, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- I agree. Until she is found she is technically still missing but only presumed to be dead.TomCat4680 (talk) 01:02, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Bluhm to go face trial
Willis' cousin to go to trial for alleged involvement in Heeringa case: MUSKEGON — A Muskegon County judge says he has found enough evidence to send Kevin Bluhm to trial on a charge related to allegations he was involved in Jessica Heeringa's death. This news was reported on Monday February 27, 2017. [1]
Should we create a sub section of the current Kevin Bluhm section to place this update? Vwanweb (talk) 02:37, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
- ^ KRIETZ, ANDREW (27 February 2017). "Willis' cousin to go to trial for alleged involvement in Heeringa case". WZZM-TV. Grand Haven Tribune. Retrieved 1 March 2017.
- Yes I think so. I added it. TomCat4680 (talk) 03:57, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks for adding it TomCat4680! Vwanweb (talk) 00:16, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
Jessica's law
Hey TomCat4680, your thoughts on adding this image to the Jessica's Law section? Vwanweb (talk) 03:24, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
- That's fine with me. TomCat4680 (talk) 03:47, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
Portal listing
Hi TomCat4680,
Should we add some portals to the article?, this is just draft list I haven't researched other related articles yet.Vwanweb (talk) 07:43, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
{{Portal bar|2010s|Michigan|Criminal justice}} OR {{Portal|2010s|Michigan|Criminal justice}}
- Sounds good to me. Either one is fine. TomCat4680 (talk) 10:36, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
Jeffrey Willis (Pretrial)
Hey TomCat4680,
I found some additional information on the prosecutors evidence/testimony presented during his pretrial, source: wwmt.com:
> Gun acquisition by robbery
> Willis' injuries - testimony from coworkers
Should we add it to the pre-trial section? Vwanweb (talk) 07:17, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yes of course. TomCat4680 (talk) 10:55, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
Graphic re files on Willis' computer.
I wish to query the legitimacy, accuracy and indeed the necessity of this illustration, which is marked as being "Own work" by Vwanweb.
1. The caption, "FILE ON WILLIS' COMPUTER WITH HEERINGA'S NAME", suggests that this is a real computer screenshot, so if the illustration is retained it should at least be clearly labelled as a simulation.
2. The name of Rebekah Bletsch is wrongly spelled as "BLESTCH" for one of the computer folders.
3. The accompanying text states that: "the folder on Willis' computer titled "vics" .... included a sub-folder with her initials, photos of Heeringa, and the date of her disappearance. Another folder on Willis' computer, also inside the "vics" folder, had similar items regarding Rebekah Bletsch". However, the graphic shows the "vics" [in lower case] folder as "VICS", in upper case, and the folders with the victims' full names rather than just their initials; the graphic is also inaccurate in the way it shows how an open folder and its sub-folders appear on a computer display.
Personally, I do not see that this graphic serves any useful purpose at all. It is not actual evidence and it adds nothing to what can be read in the text. It has the feel of a sensationalist tabloid newspaper trick. Blurryman (talk) 18:35, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
- I agree. It's unnecessary. I'm pretty sure Vwanweb made it him/herself too when I requested some pictures should be added on WikiProject Crime (I meant photographs btw) but I didn't want to say anything because he/she has been very helpful with this article otherwise. TomCat4680 (talk) 20:06, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
- The graphic was inspired by non tabloid newspapers and how Willis' computer was a major item brought forward during the preliminary hearing. Please take some time to read up on Wikipedia's guidelines on how graphics improve an article's content. The sad part about this is I just finished creating a map, pointing out the location of charges, on Willis' (16 yo kidnapping, Bletsch Murder, Heeringa disappearance).
