I downgraded this article from C-class to Start-class for several reasons. Firstly, two cited sources, that most of the article is based on, require subscriptions, which has not been indicated in those citations. The other citation is inadequate as it cites a book without giving details about where in the book's 351 pages the information can be found. To have a C-class article depend on only 3 citations is unusual, with two requiring subscriptions means the content cannot be verified easily by all readers. Additionally, some of the external links, which do not need a subscription, ought to be used as citations, as they are more clearly written than this article and explain what happened, both more accurately, and in more detail, than the article does. These clear up some confusion I had from reading the article and indicate there were more players involved, who they were, and what roles they played. So, I cannot say that the article's coverage is reasonably full or complete. Notability also an issue with this article. With a full biography, I would expect details about a person's life and notable achievements arranged from birth to death. Yet this article is primarily about the subject's murder, which indicates to me that the subject is notable for only one event, her manner of death and the surrounding circumstances. This means the article should be written about the death, killing or murder of Elsie Sigel, because this article is not really a full biography but only about a single criminal event. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 05:29, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
