Information Box
[edit]Suggestion to add “He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Chairman of the Osseointegration Group of Australia” into the small info box. (taken from http://www.almuderis.com.au/about/assoc-prof-al-muderis)
Introduction
[edit]- Add year of birth beside the name ie, Dr. Munjed Al Muderis (1972)
- Add his position as an Associate Professor
- Don’t need to keep referring to him by his full name, refer to him using his surname - Al Muderis
Early Life
[edit]- Capitalise the first letter of certain words, eg Marine Corps, Prime Minister, Supreme Court
- Add his qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB from http://www.drummoyneadvancedspecialtyservices.com.au/specialists/associate-professor-munjed-al-muderis)
Career
[edit]Compile a list of the positions he had taken up, hospitals he worked in, and time period he held that position. Can be done in point form for clearer presentation.
Suggestion
[edit]Add a new category for the research papers he has written or contributed to http://www.almuderis.com.au/about/research
Osseointegration
[edit]- Avoid Close Paraphrasing
- This means copying a sentence, changing a few words to words that mean more or less the same thing, but otherwise keeping the structure, grammar, and flow of the original text.
- For example,
‘The implant surface is also made of highly porous titanium, ensuring the stability of user and allowing for ingrowth of bone’ is too close to the original text ‘The implant surface is highly porous titanium which allows initial stability and long term bone integration (ingrowth)’.
- To learn the ideal paraphrasing, you may refer to https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Avoiding_plagiarism.pdf
- To be careful of Intepretation of words
- original text: ‘Putting on and taking off the prosthetic limb requires less than ten seconds.’
- paraphrased text:‘Taking on and off the prosthesis is very easy and takes less than ten seconds.’
- Requiring less than ten seconds does imply that the process of wearing of the prosthetic limb is quick, but not necessarily easy. Wikipedia isn't a place for opinions, judgements, self-promotion, spam, rumors or speculation and such unnecessary inferences are not required.
Do note that this is also a close paraphrase (above point)
Photos
[edit]A picture of Dr. Munjed Al Muderis would be more significant than pictures of his patients.
References
[edit]- Avoid citing the same website separately so many times. This can be solved by naming the source, then using the name of the source for subsequent references to the same source.
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Footnotes, Section 4 on Footnotes: using a source more than once for more detailed explanation
- Footnote 1, 5, 8, 14, 16, 17, 24, 25, 27, 28, 31, 32, 36, 45, 48 and 50 are the same
- 2, 7 & 52
- 3 & 15
- 4 & 10
- 9 & 37
- 11 & 12
- 18 & 35
- 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 29 & 30
- 44 & 47
- 43 & 53
- Also, standardise the referencing ie citation 5 vs citation 1
Educational assignment?
[edit]This page appears to have been created as part of an Educational assignment, possibly National University of Singapore (NUS) . Page creator Clarissalim (talk · contribs) says on their user-page "We will be creating a new article for Dr. Munjed Al Muderis". I have added relevant template to page, but don't know if there was an official WP assignment page. --220 of Borg 03:37, 16 November 2015 (UTC)
Yes, it is an educational assignment for Nanyang Technological University. Thank you for your contribution to improve this page! Clarissalim (talk) 03:19, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]Besides this being a bloated advert, what has changed since the previous afd that makes this gentleman notable? duffbeerforme (talk) 10:55, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
