Talk:Munich
Munich was a good articles nominee, but did not meet the good article criteria at the time. There may be suggestions below for improving the article. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake. | |||||||||||||

Population
[edit]The current population is 1.539.298 (Stand: 31.10.2018). I tried correcting the article but it was too difficult. Could someone please correct this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.78.150.59 (talk) 03:46, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
Name in Bavarian
[edit]Being Bavarian myself, I have honestly never heard anybody calling München "Minna". Everybody says "Minga" or, much less common, "Micha". I am quite certain that "Minna" is not more common than "Minga", at least not for Bavarians. So maybe this article should only use "Minga", as it can be seen in the corresponding German article about this city. 2601:240:8201:F170:2414:E637:E55D:AEDE (talk) 05:33, 22 September 2019 (UTC)

Minorities in Munich
[edit]Minorities seem to be mentioned only as stereotypes in this article and connected articles. The only mention of the gay community is under a "Nightlife" section. The Turkish-speaking people are mentioned briefly in Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt. Nemo 08:12, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
WMO data on Munich's (and Germany's) precipitation days
[edit](Copied over from WP:WEATHER, this problem exists in many German city articles, but this is by far the most popular.)
It seems that there is an inconsistency with WMO data on German precipitation days. WMO data regularly shows 40-50 days more of precipitation than the DWD or Infoclimat, while using the same threshold (that'd be 1.0mm). Examples abound, but aside from this article (compare Infoclimat), Konstanz is another good example. My guess is that the WMO numbers are actually using a 0.1mm threshold and are mislabeled, or are otherwise inaccurate. I will start removing these parameters in a few days if there are no objections or explanations. Uness232 (talk) 19:20, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
Wrong use of Tfd
[edit]This city is German but has been struck by the order to remove all German place names from outside of Germany and Austria. This city is very much IN Germany 95.193.65.160 (talk) 12:29, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
