Proposed deletion notice - removing
[edit]The user suggesting the proposed deletion makes good points. However, it seems that there is a misguided concern about how famous the subject is, with the user saying that the subject "he's only been best known for being affiliating with a campaign and then terrorism activities." Remember that notability does not deal with how famous or well-known a subject is.
A couple points:
- "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list." (WP:GNG)
- "Article content does not determine notability." (WP:ARTN) I've reviewed a selection of the sources. There are sources from the U.S. government, CNN, etc. that cover the subject significantly. Those sources are certainly independent and reliable.
I'm removing the proposed deletion notice in the hopes that the article can be improved. I'll try to make improvements, too. --Zulaikhah 1407 (talk) 09:13, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
