He belongs to political family from Sambrial, Sialkot. His father, Chaudhary Azam Ghumman, had been known figure who has been elected BD member and Counselor many times. He was also famous for conducting panchait to address local disputes among people. His younger brother, Azeem Ghumman, had been elected twice as MPA in 1996 and 2002.
