Impending transfer

[edit]

As per WP:CRYSTALBALL he shouldn't have his current club details changed to Tottenham until it's actually happened. In fact, his current club should continue to be marked as Fulham because the deal means he stays there on loan (marking him as currently playing for his loan club as usual for on-loan players - see Wikipedia pages for any number of on-load players, such as Victor Moses, Alexandre Pato and Carl Jenkinson).

And further, this is a great illustration of the stupidity of changing club details before it actually happens - Dembélé isn't even actually going to be signed by Spurs Smoothy (talk) 19:56, 1 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Moussa Dembélé (Belgian footballer) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 15:45, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 21 August 2016

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: no consensus. No evidence that first move is a COMMONNAME and that the latter is factually wrong, to answer, factual accuracy > COMMONNAME. --QEDK (T C)

– I originally made this move request on the Belgian player's talk page. Only one opposition was made (and from an IP which was created that same day and has made no edits since, so possibly a sock puppet). Soccerbase, the KBVB, ESPN, the Premier League and Tottenham's own website all refer to the Belgian as Mousa, not Moussa. Unreal7 (talk) 21:57, 21 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I support this move, which is (on the part of the Belgian footballer) nothing more than restoring the way it was until 20 June 2016‎. The move on that date should simply not have happened in the first place. –Sygmoral (talk) 23:11, 21 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
His name isn't Moussa, though. See John Snow as another example of WP:SMALLDETAILS. Unreal7 (talk) 08:19, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Individual awards

[edit]

Hello @Robby.is.on:, would you care to expand on your removal of the individual honours from Dembélé's page. It's commonplace across the project for monthly awards issued by the league to be included. Even Alex Ferguson has monthly awards included, which are definitely considered a significant accolade see this discussion at the Wikiproject where their significance was briefly discussed. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 21:19, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @DUCKISJAMMMY:, I am afraid I am not able to point you to a relevant discussion or a page which mentions this convention. But I can tell you that Thierry Henry, a featured article, doesn't feature monthly awards and that I have seen individual awards being removed from the Mesut Özil page repeatedly. Regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 21:33, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Robby.is.on: Henry's page currently includes monthly awards, have you any idea who removed Özil's and what rationale they used. I can't see anything in the talkpage's archive, so it may not of been discussed. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 21:46, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, right you are, Henry's article indeed lists "Premier League Player of the Month" and "MLS Player of the Month". I have checked the edit history for Özil and found this (by @Jaellee:), this (by @Shreerajtheauthor:) and this (also by Jaellee). There may be more. Robby.is.on (talk) 22:12, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, I'll raise the issue at WP:FOOTY tomorrow, hopefully we'll get a clear consensus one way or the other. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 22:22, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That would be great! :-) Thanks, Robby.is.on (talk) 22:23, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Is the man in this image actually Moussa Dembélé? As per the match report, Dembélé was not involved in the matchday squad, and to me the man looks like Ryheem Sheckleford, who did play. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 01:23, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
