Discussion
[edit]Feel free to put what you would like to discuss about Mt. Pleasant on this page. I am putting this here more as a place holder :)
I would love to know what the current market dynamics are like in Mount Pleasant. Anyone that understands who the major employers are, whether the population is growing or declining, etc, should post. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.121.36.61 (talk) 05:23, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
The statement about the origin of the name "Mt. Pleasant" sounds a bit too speculative. Just because someone is a great-granddaughter of someone who founded another "Mt Pleasant" doesn't make it the source of the name. Sanpitch (talk) 01:48, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- I don't know the official source, or who specifically named it. The sanpete.com web site says it was first named for the original mayor, Madison Habbleton. He grew unpopular I guess and the residents called it Pleasant Creek, and the final name of Mount Pleasant at the end of the Black Hawk War. Now whether or not that is the one true story I do not know. Talshiarr (talk) 10:59, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Toned down the hyperbole in the "Annual Events" and "Winter activities" sections. Sanpitch (talk) 01:55, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
The length of the history section can definitely be shortened, and made to sound less like a guidebook. I'll add it to my watchlist, and try to work on it as much as I can. BlueNoise (talk) 10:12, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
