Old elevation
[edit]I removed the following from the lead paragraph.
- "The National Geodetic Survey benchmark on the summit gives an elevation of 14,042 feet,[ngs 1] and this is the elevation shown on the Lone Pine 15" quadrangle published in 1946 and cited by many authors."
The datasheet is not available so no scene in citing it. The benchmark cannot be checked without climbing the mountain. This constitutes original research. Elevation on older benchmarks use Sea Level Datum of 1929 (NGVD 29). The statement imparts no useful information about the mountain. –droll [chat] 19:00, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
