Replaced non-free image with CC-licensed image
Replaced image:Motorola_Razr_V3.jpg with image:Geek Bling Bling.jpg. -Mardus 18:45, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
I think the RazrV3 Image with the Apple logo shoud be replaced. Seems pointless! The cellphone should be shown, and nothing else. --buzlink 16:58, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- I think it needs to be replaced as well, or cropped. The shot is not a very good shot (A head on shot would be better) either, and there is no reason for the apple product placement. --Arcaynn 03:43, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Motorola logo.png
Image:Motorola logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:36, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Multiple Issues
- Though this article is new, it represents a pre-existing company, just trading under a new name. There is already a well developed article that we can retrieve information from.
- Every sections needs to be evaluated for its notability. I do not feel that any section meets these guidelines.
- All images need to meet Wikipedia's inclusion guidelines for images.
- Device listings would be more appropriate for their own respective articles. This article should focus on the actions of the named company, not their devices.
- The revenue and employee figures do not tally with the original Motorola listing so are either wrong or rather out of date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.23.234.66 (talk) 16:19, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Google buyout

- no. Google plans to buy Motorola. Hasn't happened yet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.188.24.32 (talk • contribs) 15:48, 16 August 2011
Hello, according to http://www.gsmarena.com/google_acquires_motorola_mobility_for_125_billion-news-3001.php , Google does not plan a merger and will run Motorola as a completely separate business. so google can not be a Successor, it can only be a parent company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.134.75.236 (talk) 18:45, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
This whole article is jumping the gun on the Google buy. It requires regulatory approval from all around the world. As of now only US and EU approvals have been granted, so Google and MMI are still independent entities and this wiki entry should reflect that.
File:2011-03-05 04-24-45.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion
An image used in this article, File:2011-03-05 04-24-45.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Other speedy deletions
Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

Inc. to LLC.?
On the official website the company is now referred as Motorola Mobility LLC. Is it possible that the type of the company has been changed from Inc. to LLC.? --46.119.34.246 (talk) 17:05, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
Cleanup issues
I just dropped a quartet of cleanup tags on the front page; I'll lay out my specific concerns here to make clear why I tagged the article.
- There is a great deal of PR-style language throughout; the lede referred to the "innovative hit product" Razr, for which I dialed down the effusiveness just a touch. The whole products section is loaded with promotional terms (far more than I am willing to deal with, after spending over two hours fixing the citation formatting train wreck). I have no wish to invest the time to strip out all of the press release nonsense currently larding the Razr section, but it needs attention.
- There is also a considerable amount of opinion or analysis, some of which should be removed, and some of which needs to be attributed. I removed a particularly egregious statement, which was likely a BLP violation; the phrase "In a sign of how out of touch <insert name and title> was with the evolving cellular phone market" should never appear in Wikipedia (and before anyone asks, no it was not a quote from the citation, and in fact the cited source characterized the incident in a moderately positive fashion, rather than an extremely biased and inappropriate fashion which was employed here). There are still characterizations of the company's actions which need to be attributed and a few editorial comments to be resolved. (Update added later: that statement was not originally added here; it arrived via a cut/paste move of an entire paragraph from the subject's BLP, where it had been added by a now indef-blocked abusive editor. It has been excised from that article as well. Horologium (talk) 18:14, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
- There are a number of sources which may not meet the threshold of reliability; I have tagged two of them in the last section, but there are probably others, including several blogs or opinion pieces. One of the cites that I did not tag is simply a regurgitation of a Motorola press release with an introductory paragraph tacked on the front; it might be more accurate to simply link to the press release (although the many press releases already cited on this page are problematic as well—they are why the article has a promotional tone).
- I found at least one failed citation verification failure, which included the names of two individuals; consequently, I removed their names. A suitable citation needs to be found for that sentence, or it should be removed.
- While tidying up the citations (which included using {{cite web}} or similar templates, and standardizing all dates to use the Month/Date/Year format), I found at least one dead link and recovered it using the Wayback Machine. I didn't check all of the links, so there may be more that don't work. Anything which has an accessdate of January 3, 2013 was working as of that date. Horologium (talk) 17:52, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
