[edit]Hi, I want to say that I like your article. I think you should add more to it but overall it is good. Good luck! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramanit (talk • contribs) 04:16, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
Notes
[edit]Hi Kloesimone01, Jclark17, I wanted to drop you a quick note about the content you've been adding. The first addition was completely unsourced, which is why it was removed by Innisfree987. All content needs to be sourced, but potentially controversial content especially needs to be sourced well - and anything political in nature is considered to be inherently controversial. The second addition was better, as it had sourcing, but it still had content issues - most notably that it stated that Clinton lost the Democratic nomination to Sanders, which she didn't.
Overall you also need to be careful to avoid redundancy - ie, repeating the same content twice in different ways - as well as tone and maintaining a neutral point of view. Basically, readers should not be able to see the author's opinion in the piece and the article shouldn't be for or against the MotM, as the article should just give the basic facts and leave it up to the reader to make their own decisions.
I think that it would be best if the two of you drafted out your content in your userspace prior to adding it to the article, as this way you can kind of get your ducks in a row as far as sourcing, flow, tone, and all of this information goes. It's generally what I tend to do when I'm writing content out on my main account, as it gives me more time to prepare. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:58, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
- Shalor (Wiki Ed), thanks for this great advice. I'd add a recommendation to take care to make sure not only to add references, but also that each reference verifies a specific claim you make in an entry. Like Shalor says, if a claim is uncontroversial, a reference isn't required by WP policy, but giving every claim a reference to a reliable source is still a great practice, because it will help make sure that every item you add to the entry is really accurate, rather than something you thought to be true but turned out not to be (e.g. that Clinton lost.) Hope that helps! Innisfree987 (talk) 18:34, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
