There appears to be something called an MRU cache or an MRU table. I don't know what the term means, but it appears to be appropriate when discussing hardware or software caches. So Microsoft didn't invent the acronym.

The term related to caches are LRU (Least Recently Used), which is used in page replacement algorithms in cache memories. What I doubt is whether MRU is a Windows specific term? --Soumyasch 17:47, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
