[edit]Not sure what Cairo Tower has to do with the mosque, so I took out the link to it. If someone else knows of a connection and puts it back in, please clarify why it's relevant to the mosque.Andicat 20:58, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
The entry on Ahmad ibn Tulun has a lot of good info on this mosque - perhaps someone could move it into here. Kisch
Confused by the statement: "Ibn Tulun Mosque features ancient architecture styles of Egypt, its decorations being created from carved stucco and wood" as neither the source cited or other sources confirm this. Indeed, the cited source indicates that the mosque DOES NOT use traditional ancient Egyptian architectural features -- specifically calling out the use of carved stucco (along with the use of bricks, piers, etc.) as UNLIKE previous Egyptian architecture. New to this, so hesitant to just remove it. --Traveler203 (talk) 19:50, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

Images
[edit]FYI, there are several good images of this Mosque, at the French Wikipedia page. It would be helpful if someone could transfer them over to the Commons, and then they'd be usable here too. :) --Elonka 02:48, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
File:Kairo Ibn Tulun Moschee BW 4.jpg to appear as POTD
[edit]Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Kairo Ibn Tulun Moschee BW 4.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on November 15, 2013. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2013-11-15. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:55, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
Sabil?
[edit]The article refers to "a distinctive sabil with a high drum dome". Sabil is linked, but only to a disambig. page that points to two Sabils, both of which are placenames. What, then, is the sabil mentioned in the article?AdeMiami (talk) 12:42, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
