[edit]I find it very hard to believe that "…his psychological ideas never took hold…" when his most well-known work was experimenting with using hypnosis to merge alters in Mrs. Beauchamp — a practice (merging alters in dissociative identity disorder) that continues in psychology today. I suggest the opinionated aside should be removed for a more neutral coverage, and this page should be cross-referenced to the DID page as well since it documents this practice going back to at least 1906. 2604:2000:1109:427E:844F:D34C:801:3932 (talk) 22:43, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
