I removed the unsourced statement that "Dietrich knew little English at the time and spoke her lines phonetically." Not only does she say in her autobiography (Marlene, trans. Salvator Attanasio (New York: Grove, 1987), p. 55) that she learned English both at home and at the Max Reinhardt academy, but also she had performed both in German and in English for the two versions of The Blue Angel filmed the same year as Morocco.
