[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Mormonism in the 21st century. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20091116125804/http://archives.chicagotribune.com:80/2008/nov/20/news/chi-ap-mi-gayactivistprotes to http://archives.chicagotribune.com/2008/nov/20/news/chi-ap-mi-gayactivistprotes
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Criteria for inclusion
[edit]Sometimes it feels like I'm including too much and this chronology is bloated. I just added 2018 events (an eventful year), but it's a long list (currently 22 items) and I may still add more:
- Meetings between LDS and NAACP leadership
- Be One celebration
- Church stock holdings reported
- New hymnal project announced
- Sam Young's public fast, excommunication, and the issue of bishop's interviews on This American Life
- Tabernacle Choir's new name
- Salt Lake County is now minority LDS
- Sister missionaries can wear pants, and mission calls are now delivered online
- Bill Reel was excommunicated for his podcast
What should be included and what should be excluded? I have tried to include well-known or publicized events, or significant developments inside the Latter Day Saint movement or in its relation to the outside world. Things like:
- well-publicized controversies (notable excommunications, church finances, FLDS prosecutions)
- changes in church practice (the name "Mormon", scouting, priesthood ages, missionary policies, general conference developments)
- new top leadership (mostly apostles)
- new notable media (groundbreaking publications, films, television, broadway, music, ads)
- Latter Day Saints and the outside world (politics, 2002 olympics)
- milestones (membership, demographics, outgrowth)
Is this too much? Are these notable for a list like this? I want this to be useful, not overbearing, but usefulness includes seeing developments in proximity with each other. Is every temple dedication a kind of milestone, reflecting church demographics? How do we keep these items brief, while still capturing their significance? ——Rich jj (talk) 14:56, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
