Even if something is "most common" (however do you know what is the most common thing people search for?), fiction is never more important than articles about real-life subjects. Outer Image (talk) 23:17, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There are various methods for determining popularity of entries. There are page view statistics. There are search engines such as Google and Bing that present listings ranked by popularity. I'm not aware of any policy or guideline that gives preference to real-life subjects over fictional topics. In what way can search engine statistics show what people are looking for at this page? How do you know page view statistics correspond to the reasons people come to this page? Real-life subjects are always in preference over fiction, that goes without saying, you don't need a guideline for knowing that. Outer Image (talk) 23:48, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Of course we can never know for certain what any individual reader is looking for, but in aggregate, both the page view statistics and search engines give a very strong indication of what people searching for a particular term are looking for in general. I see no reason whatsoever for giving preference to real-life subjects over fictional topics when three is strong evidencethat the fictional topic is highly likely to be what t readers are looking for. olderwiser 00:40, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Can you point to a policy that supports your assertion that a work of fiction is less important than a real world example? For example why is Star Wars about the fictional work and not Ronald Regan's anti-nuclear program? GimliDotNet (talk) 05:12, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Moria (Middle-earth) should definitely have top billing on this dab page, and has a fairly strong case for primary topic. Either way, Moria (video game) and Moria (PLATO) do not belong in a section titled "In Fiction", since they are both very real. —Xezbeth (talk) 10:35, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
