i think moral support is a fundemental component to friendship. it is the kindness of others that can give use the courage to get through a situation with grace ! An open heart is one of the most valuable gifts you can give some one. i don't remember many things i have recieved. i do remember many times of encouragement and a caring heart !!
wrong last word
[edit]I believe the correct last word to use in this article is "sympathy", not "empathy" (see the different definitions for this word on wikipedia itself). 84.210.21.34 (talk) 22:52, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
Improvement
[edit]This article is a lot of different examples, and not a lot about the problem. People want to know tbe symptoms of the topic and how it can be cured, not the different types of moral support. Having a variety of refrences can also help boost the credibility of this article. --Annmohh (talk) 23:06, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Etymology
[edit]I'm curious about the origin of the phrase: it seems that there is no moral (i.e. ethical) aspect, so "morale support" is much more appropriate. The standard form is definitely "moral support", however: did it perhaps end up this way through dominant mispronunciation of "morale"? AndyBuckley (talk) 21:13, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
