Too many transliterations

I am taking out some of the alternative transliterations. Modern Greek versions of this place-name belong in the Greek Wikipedia rather than here, I suggest; faulty English transliterations of these probably don't belong in any encyclopedia. Andrew Dalby 09:07, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Toponym

It would be helpful to know whether the Turkish placename existed prior to the renaming in 1960, or whether it is just one more haphazard attempt to blot out the memory of the Greek, Crusader, Arab past, and of the Armenians who lived there until the 1920s https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Mopsuestia&action=edit&section=1 14 December 2018 Clive Sweeting
