Genre of the Groove Coverage Song

[edit]

I don't think that this is a Trance song...
I would say that it's Dance or a Genre more close to Techno
--D-Kuru (talk) 15:48, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The first half is more techno, but the second half is trance, I'll change the page. TubularWorld (talk) 12:13, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't a single thing about this song that falls under the 'Techno' genre. Please review the Techo wiki. Duh. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.233.114.203 (talk) 02:25, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's so typical of you 'dance-type' people to argue over something so trivial. Ah well... TubularWorld (talk) 09:54, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

105

[edit]

Anybody ever figure out what "caught in the middle of a hundred and five" is supposed to mean? Kar98 (talk) 04:39, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See #Interpretation. -79.177.199.3 (talk) 13:48, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rockier; memorable

[edit]

I am quoting a passage from the article that I have a problem with.

I have problems with the emboldened words in the cquote. Those need to be fixed. I'll probably take care of the "memorable" mistake sometime later, but I don't know what to do with the "rockier" mistake. That term "rockier" simply should not be there.

BTC 22:30, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed 'memorable' and exchanged 'rockier' with 'overdriven', so that the two solos can be identified.--TubularWorld (talk) 22:37, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's nice. Thank you very much. BTC 03:30, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Interpretation

[edit]

Hi,

in school I learned that it would be about the Vietnam war. May the Houdini reference have been ironical?

Sincerely, DerM (talk) 00:08, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To fit up this thesis. There is a line "Caught in the middle of a 105.", which can be heared in the extended version of the song and letting me guide by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/105_(number) I found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-105_Thunderchief, which fits pretty good.
DerM (talk) 00:31, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Never heard of that interpretation, but I will see if I can find any references to back it up. (a quick search did not find anything) TubularWorld (talk) 14:28, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's actually "caught in the middle of a desperate fight".--87.162.174.246 (talk) 17:28, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Both "desperate fight" and "105" appear in the song. TubularWorld (talk) 17:44, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently Oldfield has stated in an interview that 105 means 105 people and is just meant to illustrate a gathered crowd and to make a rhyme. Keresaspa (talk) 02:26, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

4am

[edit]

"Lennon was shot...just before 11pm, whereas in the song the time is 4am..." Whoever wrote this didn't listen to the song carefully. It is the postmortem VISION, not the murder, that occurs at 4am.76.199.9.141 (talk) 11:30, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

cover by italobrothers

[edit]

Moonlightshadow was also coverd by the italobrothers — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.147.182.205 (talk) 14:46, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That is now on the article. TubularWorld (talk) 22:49, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Marcela Morelo's cover

[edit]

It is not an actual "spanish version", for it's not a translation. She uses the music but the lyrics, in spanish, are nothing similar to the lyrics in english. I don't know if we consider this a cover. Hirnschlacht (talk) 01:31, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Brocket Hall?

[edit]

Can anyone find a reference for the music video being shot at Brocket Hall? It was added to the article by 81.99.182.245 in June 2015... TubularWorld (talk) 19:21, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Covers

[edit]

I was reading the page and thought the Groove Coverage version receiving any more size than the rest of the covers was a little unfair. I think it should be moved into a separate article and just have a link from this page. Is there any consensus on this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Catzilla4 (talkcontribs) 07:41, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Groove Coverage cover is one of the few charting cover versions - top 5 in some counties, so it has quite a good case for being notable itself. Typically cover verisons of songs don't get their own Wikipedia articles as they are the same subject matter.
To quote WP:Songs "When a song has renditions (recorded or performed) by more than one artist, discussion of a particular artist's rendition should be included in the song's article (never in a separate article), but only if at least one of the following applies: 1. the rendition is discussed by a reliable source on the subject of the song (not on the subject of the rendition), 2.the rendition itself meets the notability requirement at WP:NSONGS.
