Removing irrelevant facts

[edit]

Considering it's Elvis, I found these two random facts about the song's status in "minor" countries to be more distracting than informative, so I've removed them, but I'm recording them here in case someone wants to do something with them. These points aren't relevant unless put into some sort of context. Both came from the introduction section.

"By May 1977 the song had reached 120,000 sales in Germany." https://books.google.com/books?id=ziMEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PT114#v=onepage&q&f=false

"it reached #17 in South Africa during the summer of 1976." http://rock.co.za/files/springbok_top_20_(J).html Ghost writer's cat (talk) 04:24, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Too Elvis heavy

[edit]

No pun intended.

It's noted at the beginning of the article that this song was recorded by the writer—a notable musician in his own right—and released as a single. Yet the rest of the article was written entirely on the Elvis version. Granted, that's the more popular version, but that's not an excuse to make the entire article about it to the exclusion (and confusion) of any other version. I did some balancing and clarifying; the thing that's really sticking out now is the info box, which still contains only Elvis, all Elvis, all the time. (Bear in mind it wouldn't be out of the norm for someone else to have success with this song at some point in the future.) Ghost writer's cat (talk) 05:43, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
