La bomba que va explotar al carrer dels Canvis Nous va ser un atemptat anarquista dut a terme el 7 de juny de 1896 a Barcelona ocontra la processo del Corpus. Va causar dotze morts i 35 ferits. La repressio va afectar especialment l'obrerisme anarquista catala, ja que la Policia va detenir 400 persones, entre les quals hi havia els mestres Jose Lopez Montenegro i Joan Montseny i els propagandistes Anselmo Lorenzo, Tarrida del Marmol, Sebastia sunye, Joan Baptista Esteve i Teresa Claramunt, dirigents aliens al terrorisme. La Repressio tambe va comportar el tancament de revistes com ara La Tramontana i El Productor, a mes de la detencio de redactors com es ara l'intellectual Pere Coromines. Van recloure els detinguts al castell de Montjuic i, a mes de patir tortures, comandades pel tinent de la Guardia Civil Narciso Portas, van ser sotmesos a la jurisdiccio militar. De fet, d'aqui procedeix la denominacio de proces de Montjuic a aquesta repressio i judici. Cinc anarquistes van ser condemnats a mort i es van dictar diverses penes mes, com tambe el desterrament de 63 absolts. Tot el proces militar derivat de l'atemptat va ser denunciat el mateix any a la premsa estrangera, i tambe a Espanya en la premsa republicana.
