Jovan Cvijic wasn't Montenegrin. And Milos Obilic and Obrenovici? Zeljko Samardzic is a Serb from Herzegovina
Common,give it a break.
- Ok then. Jovan Cvijić is from Loznica right? Well, if you look at montenegro.org.au/C.html , it says under Cvijić that a descendant of the Montenegrin Spasojević tribe, Cvijo, moved to Loznica and his descendants were known as Cvijić.
- For Miloš Obilić, I'm not sure about. All I know is that the Obilići came to Boka Kotorska during the 17th century from Herzegovina.
- For the Obrenovići, I thought that they were originally from the Kuči tribe, but apparently, according to montenegro.org.au, they are originally descendants of the Bratonožić tribe, who migrated throughout eastern Montenegro, Serbia, and Romania.
- For Karađorđe Petrović and the Karađorđevići, they are descendants of the Vasojević tribe. Besides, King Aleksandar I Karađorđević declared himself Montenegrin, since he was born and raised in Cetinje.
- For Slobodan Milošević, his family is a descendant of the Vasojević tribe, and that according to the article on him, it says that he is "Montenegrin Serb by origin". His brother, Borislav, former ambassador to Russia, declares himself Montenegrin. Besides, he was the first generation of his family to be born in Serbia.
- For Jelena Janković, her father is from Montenegro. Also, onmontenegro.org.au, they have a long history in Montenegro, even saying that they originated in Montenegro.
- As for Vuk Karadžić (also known as Vuk Stefanović Karadžić), his family is a descendant of the Drobnjaci tribe in northern Montenegro. Everyone even states that he is a Montenegrin by origin.
- Well, there you have it. The true explanation of most people you removed from the article. Also, you can ask PaxEquilibrium, another Montenegrin user, if Slobodan Milošević and Vuk Karadžić are Montenegrins by origin. Crna Gora 01:05, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
So,what if Cvijic has Montenegrin ancestors?Half of Serbia has them.Should we add George Washinghton to the list of English statesmants because his grandfather came to USA from UK.And we don't know either when Cvijic's ancestors came to Serbia.
Milos Obilic is not even proved to be a historical figure.
Jelena Jankovic is only half Montenegrin.
Also, you must point out that in many cases it is regarded as a geographical, not ethnical base.
Vuk Draskovic was born in Banat to a family of Serbian settlers from Herzegovina. He ain't Montenegrin
Boris Tadić was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina. He ain't Montenegrin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.228.25.194 (talk) 14:32, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
