This article needs SERIOUS EDITING

Yes it was awful however I have spent some time over the last few weeks expanding and improving the article to a standard hopefully everyone will be happy with. It is still not perfect but is a big improvement of what it was. Sailormoonfan92 (talk) 02:16, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

This page needs security

Does anyone know how to lock this page? Obviously, too many kids are vandalizing it. I can edit this page on my own because I frequently edit the article. – Ashley

I agree with Pixinerd adults vandalize Wikipedia too! It's not only children vandalizing even though it's a page about dolls. - Curious678 (talk) 22:19, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

I do hope it gets controlled too. Good to know that there will be another lock because I don't think it should need to be locked. One IP address is repeatedly vandalizing the page. Typical pattern is adding Bratz names and replacing the legitimate voice actors with celebrities. Also will unreasonably delete items. IP address is 24.87.12.222. If you see this address add something, please correct it asap. If it gets out of hand, I'll send a request to lock the page. Please add references where possible!

There are a lot of unreferenced items on the page, mostly in the product lines area. Where are people getting the info for these? At least for the Spectra character, the surname is incorrect in pre-listings by vendors which are showing up through Amazon, as evidenced by Mattel's trademark registrations (and she was previously known, via listings, as Ghost Girl).

Another example is that the Wikipedia article lists Operetta as an upcoming doll, when she is only mentioned one time, in a doll's diary. Where is the evidence? - Lhall (talk) 05:18, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

There are a lot of edits to this article going on right now, mostly from new editors and IP editors who may not be familiar with Wikipedia sourcing requirements. If you see something clearly inaccurate or speculative, just remove it (I would help out, but I have only a passing familiarity with the subject matter.) If editors keep inserting inaccuracies or speculation it may be necessary to request protetion of the article for a while. Most of the release information probably falls under the What Wikipedia is not guidelines anyway. Siawase (talk) 00:27, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

I agree with the whole Operetta thing because it was put up earlier today so I put up Citation needed for it because I'm in a nice mood. For Clawd at least both atamaii.com and Doll News officials are at the Hong Kong Toy Fair and both said Clawd will be coming out on twitter. For Operetta at the current moment we have no proof unless there's new twitter post I haven't seen yet. No matter how much some of these IP editors want her as a doll she isn't going to be for now, even though Mattel's had trademark for her since 2007. -Curious678 (talk) 22:09, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Well, Operetta was mentioned in the recent diaries as well, so I guess she could be made into a dol, but I highly doubt that we will see her this year. Spectra: Vondergeist or Von Hauntington?

I know that everyone's seen the leaked Spectra pic. And that mattel said it was a prototype. I know why. Because her name is 'Vondergeist' not 'Von Hauntington'. Early listings show her surname to be 'Von Hauntington' but, as of November 5th 2010, her name is trademarked 'Vondergeist'.

Just making my point.

Spectra Von hauntington: Much Ado About Nothing

Obviously, we all now know that Spectra Von hauntington was a FAKE. But actually, she was a PROTOTYPE! Get your heads round this people! We WILL be seeing a Spectra doll, but with the proper trademarked name, Vondergeist. Also, according to her leaked picture, there are some minor changes to her dress and she now has a bag.

I wasn't the one who removed it, but in my opinion, exhaustive lists like that typically fall under the What Wikipedia is not policy. Wikipedia articles should give a summary and overview on a topic, so for products, a few typical examples of products could be described in the article text, but a complete list is out of scope. If it's not already on there, the list could be copied to the dedicated Monster High wiki at http://monsterhigh.wikia.com/ where it surely would be welcome. Siawase (talk) 21:06, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Sexualization of Children?

This article makes no mention of the dolls in question apparently serving to sexualize children -- has there not been any such controversy or criticism of the dolls because of their apparent overt sexuality? If there has been such criticism, I think it should be noted in the article. I note that the Bratz entry on Wikipedia does note such a controversy about its similar line of apparently sexualized dolls. --Skb8721 (talk) 15:29, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

This article could do with some kind of reception section in general, not just when it comes to sexualization. (Sales number or market share or any such numbers might relatively easy to find?) The media coverage of how sexualized Bratz were was pretty extensive. A quick search of google news archive for Monster High and sexualized found a few results, all commenting on Clawdeen: [1][2][3] Nowhere near the coverage Bratz received. Sexualization could be mentioned here (based on these sources) but shouldn't be given the same weight as it's got in the Bratz article. Siawase (talk) 22:31, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
