Trans-Wiki Inconsistancy?
[edit]The Japanese version of this article transliterates his name as あらかい (Arakai), rather than "Arakabi" 'kai' would make more sense as a reading of 火 that 'kabi' in my (albeit extremely limited) experience. Therefore I suspect a typo on someone's part, but I am unsure if it is on the english side or the Japanese side. Furius 05:54, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Papinot's dictionary was the only source I used for this article, as it's the only one I had which discussed the topic. The source is nearly 100 years old, and translated from the French which, of course, incorporated transliterations from the Japanese. A typo could have come in somewhere around there, or it could genuinely be a proper alternate pronunciation, as Mononobe lived so very long ago. Unfortunately, I don't have any other sources in front of me right now with which to confirm or deny... Thanks for noticing the discrepancy, though. I hope someone else can find something to back up one side or the other... LordAmeth 07:50, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
