Blood Cell Lineage Diagram
[edit]This diagram does not clearly separate the common myeloid and common lymphoid lineages of haematopoiesis. This is an important distinction that I feel is important to draw attention to. For instance, in this diagram, it appears to show that platelets and monocytes are more closely related to the lymphocytes and natural killer cells than they are to erythrocytes and granulocytes, which is not the case. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DocLovely (talk • contribs) 09:26, 1 October 2020 (UTC) I believe my new image that I added accounts for this missing distinction. These are some sources I am going to be adding. I think they highlight a lot of missing information about the myeloid lineage of hematopoiesis and the macrophage development, structure, and function. An large component missing here regarding monoblasts is what occurs when this progenitor is over expressed. Monocytic leukemia is something that should be included to help our understanding of this myeloid progenitor.
