Discography
[edit]I don't understand why my changes are getting reverted, Gone is part of Mono's discography and should be included. I haven't been able to find any information on Wikipedia that the discography section can only contain studio sections. 76.26.8.138 (talk) 23:10, 8 November 2009 (UTC) (signed by nonameplayer.. What about Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain? (A Split with World's End Girlfriend) It is a highly regarded album by many. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.55.180.50 (talk) 19:50, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Capitalization of name
[edit]i'm not a registered Wikipedian, but i do know for a fact that as of April, 2006 (with the release of their most recent album, "You Are There"), the band had changed the punctuation in their name to spelling it with ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. as in: MONO. A visit to the bands website or their label, Temporary Residence, web site will confirm this. They may have changed the punctuation sooner than April of 2006, but i'm just stating the hard facts as i know them and have just stated as they are down here. so it should be changed to MONO for all references to the band. gracias & cheers, -grinkle.
- I disagree. This capitalization is purely stylistic, and should be normalized in Wikipedia, per WP:NC#Album titles and band names. --PEJL 18:39, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Changes
[edit]Today I've been adding a great deal of information to the page so that hopefully we can get a better look at these mysterious musicians.

Comparison with other bands
[edit]The band is compared to Explosions in the Sky. Maybe we should mention Mogwai too. In my opinion, MONO is very much similar to Mogwai, even more than Explosions in the Sky. Moreover, Mogwai was most likely the influencial band for both MONO and Explosions in the Sky, since they started in 1995, while MONO/EINS started in 1999.

Fair use rationale for Image:Mono-YouAreThere.jpg
[edit]Image:Mono-YouAreThere.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:49, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Tone problem
[edit]I just finished revising the article as to satisfy the concerns over inappropriate tone. The changes should invalidate the warning posted at the top of the page.

Unknown Mono Album
[edit]My house mate introduced me to this band. He brought home an album he found at a local music store. He said it was Mono and that they were from japan. The album cover was sky blue with a gold bird in the bottom right corner and looked to be on thick recycled paper. I enjoyed the music but have been unable to locate this album. Does anyone have any ideas about a Mono album that has this cover art? Any helping thoughts are appreciated. 98.185.244.42 (talk) 22:12, 31 January 2009 (UTC)Nickolas
Genre
[edit]In regards to Mono's musical style, we have to take into consideration the different categorisations the band has been given. Music critics have labelled them "post-rock", "new/neo classical", "space rock", "experimental rock" etc. I feel that "instrumental rock" would be a suitable all-encompassing term for the music the band plays, as they are primarily instrumental, they use a traditional rock quartet lineup (lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, drum kit), and seem to dislike categorisation. The various different categorisations and descriptions of their music could be mentioned in the Musical style section within the article, as they could potentially give the reader a deeper insight towards the band's sound. Redundant Band Member section
[edit]The information in the lead paragraph is duplicated in the 'Band Members' section. This is obviously unnecessarily redundant, however I am uncertain as to what the standard is for Band wiki pages, should the band members section be deleted, the instrument details of the lead erased and 'band members' changed to instrumentation or similar, or something else entirely? Hopefully a senior editor, or some who is less gun shy with deletion reads this and can amend the article appropriately. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.92.174.103 (talk) 02:32, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- Members list in infobox does not entirely match the "Members" and "Former members" text sections. It would be great if soemeone in the know would correct these, preferably with citations. Acwilson9 (talk) 05:54, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
