Age in 1999
[edit]The article says "the WTA amended their Age Eligibility Rule in order to allow Viele to play at age 14 in 1999." But she would have already been 15 at the start of 1999, so there seems to be a mistake. StAnselm (talk) 20:37, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
Viele *was* 14 in 1999, per my newly (Nov. 9 2017) inserted citation (#1). The article originally had an erroneous birth year listed (1983, vs. my correction to 1984). When the tourney mentioned took place, she was 14, and would turn 15 later that year. Also, I have a newspaper article (in paper form, from the original newspaper) that reveals that the WTA change took place in June 1999, and the wording indicated that 14 year-olds could receive a *wild card* into a tournament of their choosing. I take that to mean *one* tournament, total, while they are 14. If I can find this info in citable form, I'll add it to the article at a future point. In the meantime, perhaps the person who added the 'dubious - discuss' notation can remove it, as her birthdate is now corrected and cited, and thus this statement is no longer dubious.
