Creation of disambig page

[edit]

I created this page because

1. Mongol language is not that typical for referring to Mongolian, but this use occurs.
2. The word Mongol is associated mainly with Mongolic peoples and there are instances where it is used referring e.g. to Kalmyk. But I am not sure whether this holds for all of Mongolic, so the second use I gave is partly due to reasoning.
3. The Mongol language of Papua is a language of its own right, but unlikely to ever be confused with Mongolian. So a link from that page that is visibly even to people who searched for "Mongolian" is not appropriate.

A good alternative to creating this page might have been giving the respective information on the page on Papuan Mongol (which appears to be, after all, the only language conventionally named Mongol in English linguist circles by anybody but Juha Janhunen), but as this is currently a redirect as well which links to its language family, this solution was not really feasible.
