Dubious

[edit]

When did she live in Saint Kitts? Celia Homeford (talk) 10:54, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That's her official residence when she's in Saint Kitts. Another example is Rideau Hall. Peter Ormond 💬 13:33, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I doubt it. The source is also very bad: it's a book of humour written by an actor. The book contains 'facts' like Anne Boleyn had six fingers on eachone hand. (She didn't -- it's a story made up by Catholic propagandists.) Celia Homeford (talk) 13:56, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am unable to find such a 'fact' in the book. Peter Ormond 💬 14:05, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I see, then 'Which wife of England's Henry VIII had six fingers on one hand? This story is usually told about Anne Boleyn. Celia Homeford (talk) 14:07, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like WP:HEADLINE to me. Peter Ormond 💬 14:09, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like you don't have a proper citation to me. Celia Homeford (talk) 14:11, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I provided the source. You seem to not like it. Peter Ormond 💬 14:20, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously, I don't. I've made that quite clear. Celia Homeford (talk) 14:21, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Then provide a source which says otherwise. Peter Ormond 💬 14:22, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No. See Wikipedia:Verifiability#Responsibility for providing citations: the responsibility for providing citations does not rest with the editor challenging the content. Celia Homeford (talk) 14:25, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I already fulfilled my responsibility by providing a citation. Peter Ormond 💬 14:27, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
A joke book by an entertainer is not an acceptable citation for the exceptional claim that the Queen has a residence on Saint Kitts. Celia Homeford (talk) 14:30, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How is it a "joke book"? Peter Ormond 💬 14:32, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How is it 'multiple high-quality sources' as required by the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy for exceptional claims? Celia Homeford (talk) 14:35, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh jeez. Don't bring up Rideau Hall, as I'm still peeved over its intro. Not to mention Citadelle of Quebec - Oops I mentioned it. GoodDay (talk) 16:12, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Title

[edit]

The Governor-General has been using (see refs) a shorter form of the royal title than is standard for the Commonwealth realms. The standard form seems to have been chosen by the Queen in accordance or consistency with the Royal Titles Act 1953 (UK), no doubt in consultation with the government of each realm, and presumably established by royal proclamation—in each independent realm, otherwise by the UK. I can't find any such proclamations—especially for St K&N after independence 1983 (the title is not in the new constitution). It therefore appears that the standard form remains correct and that the G-G's form is informal. Further information would be very welcome. Errantios (talk) 00:40, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If all citations say one thing and no citations say the other, I am inclined to believe the citations. Celia Homeford (talk) 12:48, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
