[edit]I replaced the landseer painting with the promo photo. Nothing against the painter, just though his link sufficed. This is the first picture I've uploaded of this nature. I tried to follow all the rules, size, resolution, fair use and all that; but if not the painting can always be hung back up :-) Khiradtalk 23:16, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Monarch of the Glen (painting) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RM bot 05:15, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- After that extensive discussion at Talk:Monarch of the Glen (painting) which ended with no consensus, I was surprised to notice just now that the disambiguation page that had been set up at Monarch of the Glen in July last year as a result of that discussion was then moved off to Monarch of the Glen (disambiguation) in November and replaced by the TV series, with no further discussion anywhere I can find (if I missed it, please point me towards it). The disambiguation page still puts the TV series at Monarch of the Glen (TV series), which strikes me as the right place for it. I have considerable sympathy for the view that the 150-year old painting is the primary topic, and the TV series that ended 6 years ago will fade from memory relatively quickly. Alternatively, I would assert that there is no primary topic, and this page should diambiguate. -- Theramin (talk) 22:58, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
In the absence of any contrary comments in the last few weeks, and no clear consensus in that earlier discussion mentioned above, I would propose to:
- move this page to Monarch of the Glen (TV series)
- copy the contents of Monarch of the Glen (disambiguation) here, and redirect that page here (although it would be cleaner to just move it back here, if a passing admin would like to do the honours)
Anyone object? -- Theramin (talk) 01:23, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'd be glad to do it. Let's give it another couple of days to see if anyone objects. If after that time no one has, poke me on my talk page, and I'll do the requisite moves. LadyofShalott 02:03, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Original Research?
[edit]The article claims that episodes of Monarch of the Glen reflect events in the TV series "Country House". As far as I can see, the source that is cited does not appear to make this comparison. Without a source that directly makes the claim, the statement would constitute OR -- a no-no on these pages. Nandt1 (talk) 15:04, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi. I'm just curious. Is there a reason why an inline link to {{Original research}} was used instead of the inline template {{OR}} in this edit? PC-XT (talk) 09:09, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
The usage of The Monarch of the Glen (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) is up for discussion, see talk:Monarch of the Glen (painting) -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 03:24, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Drama, or comedy, or both?
[edit]I added the {{WikiProject Comedy|class=stub|importance=low}} template to some of the character articles, but now I see in this and other places that Monarch of the Glen (TV series) is called a drama series. Wikipedia does not have a drama Wikiproject, but am I wrong about calling this a comedy series? I need to do fixes, if it is not also a comedy. My memory of this series might be hazy, but I do recall some rather funny things.--DThomsen8 (talk) 23:02, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
Series or Season?
[edit]The article makes repeated reference to the seven "series" that were filmed. That seems incorrect. As far as I understand, the Monarch of the Glen was a single series comprising seven seasons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.223.230.151 (talk) 18:16, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
