47th?

[edit]

Anybody know, why she was numbered the 47th Lieutenant Governor, when she was only Acting Lieutenant Governor? Previous Acting LtGs weren't numbered. GoodDay (talk) 02:14, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Previous Acting LGs are numbered; see List of lieutenant governors of California. Wikipedia follows the same ordering as the official roster maintained by the Secretary of State of of California. That list is at [1] (page 6 of the roster; the 9th page of the PDF document). Although the list is unnumbered, it contains 49 individuals, Newsom is the 49th individual listed (including the five Acting LGs), and his own news release, [2], identifies him as the 49th (i.e., counting the Actings).
If some Wikipedia articles are not following the numbering in List of lieutenant governors of California, which follows the state's numbering, they should be corrected to follow it. TJRC (talk) 16:19, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
